Ours is a story of God’s Mercy. I remember one day while we were still courting, my wife told me that she had a 50/50 chance of conceiving because of the type of drugs she had taken to control her irregular flow due to hormonal imbalance. I said to her if God is on the throne that will not be a challenge.
After two years of marriage, as most newlyweds do, we became concerned about not having a child yet and encouraged ourselves. Searching about God’s promises on the matter from the Bible made us believe that God will visit us in His time.
We then subjected ourselves to various tests (twice) to know whether we were medically alright/not so that we would know how to channel our prayers to God. Two different doctors (one in Kaduna and the other in Abuja) confirmed that nothing was wrong with us conceiving. We kept on trusting God for His visitation (Genesis 21:1; 30:22-24) while going about our normal business. Like Hannah we poured our hearts on the matter to the Lord (1 Samuel 1:9-18, 19-20) and never gave room for blame game. God has helped us through the years of “working” and waiting.
Today we want to thank God that after 7 years of marriage, last year 12th May 2022 our baby (Charissa, Atari, KaramKazah, Akachukwu, Nasara) came.
We thank God for the prayers and encouragement of friends, family and CCF family (of which we have a lot to say).
The lesson here is that God came through for us in His time. That the glory will be to God we had to politely reject other options suggested to us by some concerned people. Thank God we waited; our daughter is now One year old basking in the love of God. Hallelujah
