From Folded Hands to Wedding Vows

For years, the families of Mr. and Mrs. Istifanus Adamu Yel and Engineer and Mrs. Boniface Nwaiwu, devoted group leaders in the CCF Kaduna Zone, watered the lives of their little girls with prayers whispered at dawn and scriptures recited before sleep.

They taught their tiny hands to fold in reverence, tender voices to call upon God, and young hearts to grow in faith and virtue.

Like careful gardeners tending precious seedlings, they nurtured their daughters to become “good things.” The living expressions of grace, favors that God, in His perfect time, would entrust to worthy young Christian men.

On Saturday, April 11, 2026, beneath the sacred calm of the altar at Covenant Word Christian International Church, those long-carried prayers finally took on flesh and vows. Gratitude rose quietly in the sanctuary, not always spoken, yet deeply seen. It trembled in Brother Istifanus’ hand as he gently placed Faith Gyeyock’s hand into the waiting hand of Chris Wyohng Jom. It shimmered in the eyes of his wife, Lami, where tears gathered softly but refused to fall.

For the families of Adamu Yel and Elder and Mrs. Ayuba Haruna Jom, the union of their children was more than a wedding celebration; it was a holy reminder that the God who watched over childhood footsteps is faithful enough to guide them all the way to the altar. In that moment, joy and trust embraced like old friends, and years of prayer blossomed into fulfillment before heaven and men.

A similar grace unfolded on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the altar of ECWA Goodnews Church, Ungwan Boro, Kaduna, where years of prayer and patient hope ripened into joy. Brother Boniface’s hand quivered gently as he placed Ngozi’s hand into the waiting hands of Emmanuel Onomso Abdallah, while Vivian watched with eyes glistening at the edges, heavy with gratitude yet restrained by quiet composure.

For the families of Nwaiwu and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Abdallah, it was more than a wedding day; it was a harvest of faith. Laughter flowed freely through the gathering like music, thanksgiving rose from grateful hearts, and the air itself seemed filled with the warmth of fulfilled prayers and the beauty of two families becoming one.

Both sacred gatherings were witnessed by members of the Christian Couples Fellowship and loved ones who journeyed from different corners of the country to share in the joy. They came not merely as guests, but as witnesses to answered prayers, to promises fulfilled, and to the quiet faithfulness of God written across the lives of two families and the hearts of two newly joined couples.
