Laughter echoed beneath the trees, children ran freely across open fields, and families rediscovered the simple joy of being together as Group E of the Christian Couples Fellowship (CCF), Abuja Zone, recently hosted a memorable family picnic at the National Children’s Park and Zoo, Asokoro, Abuja.
Set against the beauty of nature, the gathering was thoughtfully designed to strengthen family bonds, deepen friendships, and provide wholesome recreation away from the demands of everyday life. Beyond fellowship, the picnic also became a warm expression of outreach, welcoming non-member couples and their families into the joyful community of CCF.

About fifty participants, adults and children alike, shared four delightful hours filled with laughter, discovery, and togetherness. Families explored the zoo’s fascinating collection of wildlife, admired the wonders of nature, participated in lively interactive games, and delighted in creative family presentations that celebrated love, teamwork, and the beauty of home. Between the activities, conversations flowed effortlessly as parents and children relaxed over delicious meals, snacks, and refreshing drinks beneath the open sky.

More than a recreational outing, the picnic became a celebration of family life and Christian fellowship. It offered parents the rare gift of unhurried moments with their children, friendships were renewed, and new relationships blossomed. As the day drew to a close, smiles lingered and hearts were full, with many participants expressing gratitude for an experience that was both spiritually refreshing and genuinely enjoyable.

For many, it was a gentle reminder that some of life’s richest blessings are found not in grand occasions but in simple moments shared with family, friends, and God amidst the beauty of His creation.
