The Christian Couples Fellowship (CCF) has entrusted its national leadership to a new team, marking a fresh chapter in the fellowship’s journey while building on the foundation laid by those who served before them.
The new national officials emerged at the 2026 Annual Retreat and General Meeting held at Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, where members gathered not only to worship, reflect and fellowship, but also to renew the leadership entrusted with carrying the vision forward.
The four-day gathering, which began on Thursday, August 13, and concluded on Sunday, August 16, brought couples from across the country to Miango Rest Home for prayer, teaching, fellowship and the business of the fellowship. Against the serene backdrop of the hills, the retreat became both a moment of thanksgiving for the journey so far and a passing of the leadership torch to a new team poised to continue the work.
At the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, August 15, the National Secretary, Professor Oche Agbaji, announced the new national officials, whose appointments had been ratified by the Board of Trustees. He said the selection followed a season of prayer and fasting, as the fellowship sought God’s direction for the next chapter of its journey.
The transition was also marked by a profound appreciation of the outgoing leadership, whose service, sacrifice and commitment have helped strengthen and advance the fellowship over the years. The new team inherits not a blank page, but a legacy carefully built by those who served before them.
The Board of Trustees was therefore encouraged to continue to walk alongside the new leadership, offering the wisdom, guidance and institutional experience gained over the years. With the torch now passed, the hope is that the new team will build confidently on the foundation laid by its predecessors, while bringing fresh energy and vision to the work entrusted to them. The new Zonal Coordinators are:
- Arc. Samuel Jatau, Jos Zonal Coordinator
- Pastor Simon Bunshak, Abuja Zonal Coordinator
- Mr. Kitka Denji, Mangu/Pankshin Zonal Coordinator
- Engineer David Okpanachi, Kano Acting Zonal Coordinator
- Mr. Ezekiel Barnabas, Kaduna Zonal Coordinator
Former Zonal Coordinators and National Officers are now Ex-Officio Members.
The new team will assume office officially on Monday, 17th August 2026. In the meantime, all outgoing officials will serve as ex-officio to the new leadership, providing wisdom, guidance, and support.
The leadership transition comes as CCF enters a new phase focused on strengthening marriages, family values, and outreach within the church and society.
The retreat, themed “Following Jesus Christ as a Family in Challenging Times,” featured plenary (Talk) sessions, workshops, games, varieties and a fundraising report presented to the fellowship.
