Couples Retreat to Strengthen Bonds in Challenging Times

The annual pilgrimage of hearts returns once again. From Thursday, August 13, to Sunday, August 16, 2026, Christian couples from across the fellowship will gather at the tranquil Miango Rest House for the Annual Christian Couples Retreat – a cherished season of spiritual renewal, deeper fellowship, and refreshing in God’s presence.

This year’s theme, “Following Jesus Christ as a Family in Challenging Times,” speaks directly to the realities confronting many homes today. In a season marked by economic hardship, uncertainty, and growing pressures on family life, the retreat offers couples a timely opportunity to refocus on Christ, strengthen their marriages, and rediscover the grace to build homes that remain steadfast through every storm.

The retreat will be led by Rev. Professor Pic Onwochei and Professor Mrs. Modupe Onwochei, whose Bible-based teachings will be followed by interactive question-and-answer sessions on Friday and Saturday, allowing couples to engage practical issues affecting Christian family life. The Opening Charge will be delivered by Rev. Dr. David Pofi, Chairman of the Fellowship’s Board of Trustees, while the National Coordinator, Dr. Patrick Dakum, will formally welcome participants and set the tone for the gathering.

Beyond the teaching sessions, participants can look forward to uplifting worship, inspiring devotional moments, joyful games and recreational activities for couples, warm fellowship, and a variety of programs designed to refresh the spirit, strengthen marriages, and deepen relationships within the Christian family.

More than an annual gathering, this retreat is a divine invitation to follow Jesus Christ as a family in these challenging times. It is a place to pause from life’s demands, seek God’s direction, and draw fresh strength from His Word. Whether couples are newly married or have journeyed together for many years, they are expected to come with open hearts. Leave renewed in faith, strengthened in love, and equipped to face the future with confidence, knowing that when Christ leads their homes, challenges become opportunities to experience His grace, peace, and unfailing faithfulness.
